“I was first introduced to CrossFit in the spring of 2008. I immediately fell in love with it. CrossFit allows me to constantly challenge myself and take my own fitness to new levels along with great people who inspire and push me daily.

“I did my Level 1 CrossFit Certification in May 2009 in Toronto and also attended Robb Wolf’s CrossFit Nutrition Seminar in August 2009 here in Edmonton. I have my Can-Fit-Pro Personal Training Specialist and Can-Fit-Pro Pre- and Post-Natal Fitness Specialist certifications.

“I have also attended the CrossFit Olympic Lifting certification and the NCCP Olympic Lifting weekend courses. I have 1 ½ years of experience coaching and personal training at CrossFit Lineage. I truly enjoy being a part of such an amazing CrossFit community and being able to witness people achieve fitness goals they never thought possible.”

“It was only a few years ago that I discovered CrossFit. I was looking for a fitness program that had unparalleled results and that I would enjoy. I stumbled across a CrossFit Journal at a friend’s house and was intrigued by the photo of a woman my size overhead-squatting 135 lbs. After my first class, I was hooked.

“I started off my coaching career as a wrestling coach in Lethbridge in 2000. When I became a paramedic, I made it part of my job to ensure that my coworkers had access to a great fitness program. I have led running groups, taught group fitness classes and done occupational health and fitness programs for new employees.

“I still work as a paramedic but have found personal training is a great way to share my knowledge and passion for CrossFit. I have a great interest in Olympic lifting and injury rehab and am constantly looking for opportunities to learn more. I hope to help every one of you reach your goals and perhaps even surpass them.”

“My involvement in athletics started when I was 9 years old. I participated in swimming, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, karate and Judo. It was not until high school that I started focusing and specializing in specific sports. I did cross-country running, wrestling and track. Throughout university, I focused on triathlon and swimming.

“Once I graduated with a Bachelor in Physical Education: Physical Activity and Sport Performance, I started my journey as a fitness professional. Since then I have become a Certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT) and have obtained my coaching certifications in swimming, triathlon, cycling, diving, gymnastics, and Olympic lifting through the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC-NCCP). Also, my pursuit of fitness and health has driven me to become a TRX Suspension Training instructor and an Agatsu Kettlebell and CrossFit coach.

About Me:
• Favourite meal: Steak
• Favourite Workout of the Day (WOD): "Nancy"
• Learning to love: Pull-ups
• Motivation for WOD: You know that feeling when you are working out, when you are not sure you will be able to
finish…but then you keep going…you know the feeling that comes right after you've dug deep and got
through…that is why I do it!
• Hobbies: Olympic lifting
• Favourite quote: "Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake
to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Dead-lift, clean, squat,
presses, C&J and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups,
sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc. – hard and fast.
Five or six days per week, mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow.
Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports." - Greg Glassman

“CrossFit is what allows me to balance my ambitious health and fitness goals with the chaos of being Mom to four young kids. Since finding CrossFit in 2008, my fitness has been launched to levels I couldn't have imagined, and it has given me the results I was struggling so hard to find before.

“I aim to inspire my kids to become the best they possibly can, and I think the best way to lead is by example. Painters have paint, musicians have instruments – I have CrossFit!

“It is an honor to sweat and work alongside the CrossFitLINEAGE community as we pursue our goals together. This is what inspires me to become the best I can. I am so much better for it!”

“I thought I was fit...and then I found CrossFit. I was a dancer and athlete while growing up; active in both team sports and competitive dance my entire life. I've always had a keen interest in fitness and conditioning, as my body was my tool for my trade.

“I began teaching dance at a very young age, as it just seemed like a natural progression of passing along the information I had received. After graduating from The Professional Training Program at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, I was sidelined with an injury and found I had an abundance of time on my hands. Moving was my life, and taking that time off was quite a shock to the system. I missed my activity, endorphins, community and a place to check my worries at the door.

“I got schooled on my very first workout at CrossFit Lineage and have been hooked ever since! (And by schooled, I mean I was utterly convinced I had asthma. Now don't be afraid; it's not as though there was someone hovering over me telling me to do pushups until I vomited. There were just a whole bunch of people working super hard, and I just wanted to keep up.)

"I earned my CrossFit Level 1 Cert in September 2010 and have since become an avid Olympic lifter. Whoever would've thought that the little ballerina would grow up to have calloused hands and brag about dead-lifts?!"

“At the end of the day, we get one body and one shot at this life, so we might as well take care of ourselves and take some risks. If there's anything I've taken away from CrossFit, it's simply that we are unaware of our own potential and under-utilize the power of dedication, practice, and discipline. And if you ask anyone at the gym, they’d say I'm pretty pro with the pep talks. So if you need a little bit of motivation, let's hit a WOD together – I promise you won't regret it!"

About Me:
• Favourite meal: Homemade chili, shrimp
• Favourite Workout of the Day (WOD): "Isabel" and anything that involves dead-lifts and box jumps
• Learning to love: Muscle-ups, handstand pushups
• Motivation for WOD: Training mental toughness. Trying not to quit is just as hard for my brain as it is for my
muscles. Every WOD is an opportunity to confront my inner coward and dig deep to get the work done.
• Hobbies: Photography, stand-up comedy, Olympic lifting, modern dance
• Favourite quote: "I'm not sweating, my body is just crying." Also: "Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever
has to be done, it's always your choice." -Wayne Dyer
• If I could be a professional at any sport it would be: Gymnastics. Or maybe tennis, they seem to get more perks
  and cooler outfits.
• What I love about CF: That we all suffer together. Ultimately, I still have to lift the weights or haul myself off the
floor, and it's of no gain to anyone but myself. Yet it really helps doing this in a room full of other like-minded
individuals who are working all out to become a better athlete. If my mom can do it, I can
certainly do it. And I'm certainly not going to get outdone by an old lady! (Sorry, Mom!)
• Sum up CFLineage in a few words words: Accountability, tenacity, intensity, growth, sweat

Qualifications:
• Can-Fit-Pro Personal Training Specialist
• CrossFit Level 1
• NCCP Olympic Lifting Certification
• First Aid
• Diploma in Modern Dance: Professional Training Program at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre
